Raleigh County Memorial Airport is the regional air hub for Southern West Virginia, serving commercial air passengers, freight and business clients.

• Problem: The FlyBeckley.com site was static, outdated, and not search engine-optimized. Additionally, it housed content which pertained to two different entities: the Raleigh County Memorial Airport, a regional airport which meets strict Transportation Security Administration commercial carrier standards and offers private aviation opportunities; and the Airport Industrial Park, which facilitates economic development in and around Beckley, WV. This reality meant that air passengers and pilots, and potential business partners and developers would all visit the same site, creating confusion and unnecessary navigation issues.

• Hypothesis: WELD carefully evaluated the site's structural and content needs. We wanted the site to have a new fresh look with a clear customer funnel; to be dynamic and easy to update as needed; to meet Web 2.0 expectations; and to speak to that special something that makes the Raleigh County Memorial Regional Airport and the Airport Industrial Parks stand out.

• Execution: WELD created a separate website for the airport, FlyBeckley.com. WELD produced extensive new video footage and photo content to propagate the new site. The new visual content gave FlyBeckley.com a fresh look. We modernized the site with search engine optimization, java search and clearer navigation. We built the site on a dynamic platform, so that it can accommodate new information, news, and regional growth.

• Result: Private pilots and commercial aviation administrators now make use of the website's fuel pricing information, updated daily, and prospective passengers can more readily find flight information thanks to simplified navigation. As for overall performance, the fully optimized site continues to steadily climb search engine rankings.
